Nelly - "Magical Monitor"
Nelly was created for the Savannijam,
a 24 Hour Animation Event. Prior to the event we had made a couple of throw away designs, and Nelly came about as a fusion of two of our designs. We wanted to create a character that was kind of like this posh peppy girl that was all about following the rules and defending others.
Since we had such a wild time limit, I wanted to make her design both simply but versatile. My highest priorities while drawing her were that she was easy to animate and looked really cute.
Claret - Red Riding Hood
Claret is a character from a re-interpretation of Red Riding Hood I have been developing. I wanted to make a character that was naive and gullible, and was very determined to make sure that that naivety showed in both her character and her overall design. In my re-interpretation the world is cold and cruel, so I wanted to make her stand out in it by giving her design this round and friendly shape to it. Overall, Claret has come a long way from all the iterations she's been through thus far.
